About The Role

As a Commercial Director, you are organised, driven, and embody integrity. Coming from a commercial background, you possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to influence others is key, and you would relish this opportunity.

This is an important leadership role and a critical part of the Area leadership team, managing commercial performance across the enlarged area working with values of up to c85m per annum.

The Commercial Director will be the Area Director’s commercial conscience and ensure that targeted margin is achieved, cash is collected promptly, and risks are appropriately managed. You will work closely with the Area leadership team and the contract teams to identify and realise opportunities to reduce costs and maximise revenue. You will produce financial and commercial reports, work closely with client representatives, and be involved in tender assessments.

Your remit involves supporting the contracts in producing and maintaining profit margins while reducing costs symbiotically.

You’re not the type to be somebody that wasn't willing to spread their knowledge across a number of areas. The role isn’t for people who haven't had experience of working within framework agreements for a major contractor.

In this role you will establish strong client relationships and influence other senior staff.

To excel in this role, you'll need to be organised, driven, and have experience working within an environment with long term framework agreements, excellent excel skills are essential as well as the ability to manage clients and people.

As our next Commercial Director, you’ll be driving the daily management of commercial contracts and supporting the contracts in producing and maintaining profit margins while reducing costs symbiotically.

The Key Requirements...

  • Experience of either Capital projects or high volume, low value projects
  • Experience of working within NEC frameworks
  • Change management experience
  • A detailed understanding of cost value reconciliations
  • Previous experience of subcontractor procurement and administration
