About The Role
SHE Advisor (Safety, Health and Environmental)

Location: Swavesey, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Are you dedicated to upholding safety, health, and environmental standards in the workplace? 

Z-Tech Control Systems is seeking a dedicated SHE Advisor to join our dynamic team based in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire. As SHE Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our Health and Safety management systems, promoting a safety-focused culture throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
 
Site Visits and Auditing: Conduct comprehensive site visits, inspections, and audits, including asset and vehicle audits, to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Collaborative Support: Provide hands-on support and guidance to colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders, building strong interpersonal relationships to ensure safe service delivery.

System Maintenance and Improvement: Assist in maintaining and improving Z-Tech's Health and Safety management systems, including ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, and 27001. Drive innovation and adherence to industry best practices. Analyse internal report data to identify health and safety performance improvements. Assist with monthly board presentations and support bid teams as necessary.

Communication and Training: Communicate best practices for health, safety, and environmental management across the organisation, providing education and awareness to all employees. Act as a go-to person for SHE queries and support at all levels.
 
Internal and External Auditing: Conduct internal audits and analyse data to drive improvements. Assist the SHEQ Manager in ensuring the organisation meets requirements and coordinates external audits for certifications such as ISO, Achilles UVDB, FORS, RISQS, and RoSPA.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Knowledge of health and safety industry standards, environmental best practices, and risk assessment.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum).
  • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate.
  • Experience in managing internal audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems, with certification from IRCA/CQI or an equivalent accrediting body.

  •  Excellent Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with exemplary written and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership to influence both workers and management
  • Pressure Handling and Time Management: Proven ability to perform under pressure, adhere to tight deadlines, and manage workload efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving and Results Orientation: Skilled in overcoming obstacles, resolving issues, and achieving desired outcomes while aligning with broader objectives.
  • Attention to Detail and Accuracy: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in Learning and Adaptability: Ability to learn and utilise various specialist software and databases, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Decision Making: Confidence in making decisions within the role's responsibilities - halting work if safety concerns arise (with the full support of the Senior Leadership team).
  • Analysis and Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying necessary safety measures and controls to ensure tasks are conducted safely, and experience in addressing challenges in dynamic environments.
