As a Design Civil Engineer you will be part of our Engineer Team who are responsible for delivering outline and detailed designs.
Morrison Water Services is currently looking for Design Civil Engineers for its joint venture Caledonia Water Alliance where we have teamed up with AECOM to deliver Scottish Water’s SR21 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme.
The Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme involves £720m investment for the next 6 years. The programme of work includes the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure across Scotland.
The positions for both Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Design - Engineers are required to support our growing workload within the Scottish Water.
As a Design Civil Engineer your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Implement the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards
- Be confident to work under minimum supervision and competent to check the work of others and supervise less experienced or junior staff.
- Carry out site visits and surveys, inspections assessment and supervise sub-contractors.
- Prepare feasibility studies, inspections assessment and technical reports and other written documents in an appropriate format ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Comply with the requirements of the CWA Management Systems including Health & safety, Environmental and all other appropriate regulations.
- Prepare design approach, calculations, drawings and documents.
- Engage in client and third party liaison.
- Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate identify innovation/best practice for consideration.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Engineering degree qualified.
- Working towards Chartered or Incorporated (CEng/IEng) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential.
- Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines.
- Good written and oral communication and organisational skills.
- Computer literate and conversant with the MS Office suite.
