PMP Utilities is part of the MGroup Services Water Division, who are the leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK. PMP Utilities are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to help deliver our work bank, which is solely based within the Scottish water industry, both wastewater and fresh water.  Working alongside other MEICA Scotland Division member companies, we can also deliver our projects via the Reginal Contractor Services Framework, so the post will involve travel and occasional overnight stays.

The MEICA Scotland business unit currently delivers a number of frameworks for Scottish Water including the Infrastructure Capital programme and the MEICA replacement operational alliance DV2 Lot 4/RCS.

The Project Manager will be responsible for safe delivery of their Projects whilst achieving commercial expectations. A key part of the role will be establishing a strong relationship with Scottish Water, both at Project level and within the Frameworks we support sister companies on.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the allocated team through the programme of their projects.

They will be a key part of the Management Team and will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of Contracts and support on key issues as they evolve.

This new position is a Scottish based role.

As the Project Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects focusing primarily on water & wastewater M&E capital maintenance and growth projects.
  • Accountable for project outputs in the delivery phase and managing the team.
  • Accountable for the finances of the project
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external reviews and progress meetings.
  • Participate in collaboration meetings with engineering team, other commodity disciplines and professionals.
  • Review of contracts & specifications
  • Procurement and support for subcontract procurement based on detailed specifications.
  • Record and review all project information.
  • Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.

Skills & Knowledge requirements: 

  • Experience in water industry would be advantageous.
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages
  • Knowledge and skills in the in the planning, specification, design procurement and commissioning of projects
  • A good financial background in relation to projects
  • A good Knowledge of NEC4 contracts
  • Possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures
  • Able to integrate well into a team as well as work independently.
  • Experienced level of decision making and ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands
  • Strong communication skills all levels with the client, suppliers, contractors, and design team
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Must be able to plan and prioritise workload effectively
  • Excellent client service focus
