Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on our Crowded Meter Room Contract with the Alt HAN Company.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Crowded Meter Room team who are responsible for the surveying, design and installation of electrical equipment and meters in crowded meter rooms in multi occupancy buildings across the UK.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial aspects of a programme of projects across the North of England & Wales according to agreed Service Level Agreements, Budgets, and Quality standards. They will work closely with other team members, stakeholders, and the Alt HAN Company to ensure project success. The projects will involve the surveying, design and subsequent relocation / installation of electrical equipment in crowded meter rooms in multiple occupancy buildings. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be based out of our office in Liverpool and will support a team of construction managers, designers, planners, schedulers, and electricians, who will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of surveys, design and installation work.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Manage project resolution pricing and client agreement with support from the estimating team
- Production and agreement of monthly applications for payment
- Producing monthly cost and value reports
- Producing monthly site cost and margin forecasts and presenting to the project team
- Advise on and administer project procurement strategy
- Identifying, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
- Subcontract procurement and production of subcontracts
- Administer subcontracts and payment processes
- Identification and management of contract change process and procedures
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and service level agreements and identify opportunities for improvement
- Provide leadership and guidance to the project team members, and foster a positive team culture
- Ensure that timely actions are taken to protect MES contractually / commercially for any delays in agreed programmes or to SLAs
- Maximise revenue and profit from the contracts through identifying opportunities for cost savings and/or additional chargeable activities
- Build and maintain constructive and open relationships with the Alt HAN Company and stakeholders in line with the MGS core value of ‘delivering what we promise’
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- A relevant commercial/construction degree
- An understanding of the energy industry, including trends, competitors, and market conditions
- Must be able to manage and track multiple projects concurrently
- Have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, team members, and clients
- Listening to customer needs, being responsive to their concerns, and providing exceptional service
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other members of the MES Alt HAN back office and field teams
- Robust skills in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Full Driving Licence
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Minimum five years experience of project quantity surveying
- Electrical or civils experience is desirable
- Experience of accounting systems eg Oracle
- Experience of managing Sub-contracts
- A strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract in particular the NEC form
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to lead the team and inspire them to achieve the project goals
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete the project within the given timeline
- Have the ability to make informed decisions that align with the project objectives
- Knowledge of the CDM Regulations
