About The Role

Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Project Manager to work on our Crowded Meter Room contract in the North of England & Wales.

As the Project Manager you will be part of our Crowded Meter Room team, who are responsible for delivering a contract for the Alt HAN Company that acts on behalf of the Energy Suppliers.

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing a programme of projects across the North of England & Wales according to agreed Service Level Agreements, Budgets, and Quality standards. You will work closely with other team members, stakeholders, and the Alt HAN Company to ensure project success.  The projects will involve the surveying, design and subsequent relocation / installation of electrical equipment in crowded meter rooms in multi occupancy buildings. 

You will be based out of our office in Liverpool and will manage a team of planners, schedulers, electricians and meter installers, who will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of surveys and installation work and up to three Electrical Field Managers, who will be responsible for undertaking the surveys, developing the design proposals and then managing the work, if instructed.

As the Project Manager your responsibilities will include:
  • Plan and execute a programme of projects from start to finish, including surveying, designing, pricing, customer communications, installation and project closure including the managing of agreed budgets
  • Communicate programme and project progress to stakeholders and the Alt HAN Company and manage their expectations
  • Identify and manage programme and project risks and issues and develop contingency plans
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and service level agreements and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project team members, and foster a positive team culture
  • Ensure instructed projects are tracked against key milestones through to completion to facilitate accurate forecasting of work and resources
  • Ensure that timely actions are taken to protect MES contractually / commercially for any delays in agreed programmes or to SLAs
  • Maximise revenue and profit from the Alt HAN Company through identifying opportunities for cost savings and/or additional chargeable activities
  • Build and maintain constructive and open relationships with the Alt HAN Company and stakeholders in line with the MGS core value of ‘delivering what we promise’

We are currently undertaking a pilot phase to develop our processes and systems for the enduring contract and to validate our assumptions around the pipeline and timings of work stages throughout the process.  The Project Manager will be a key contributor in defining and developing these processes and systems and our resource strategy for addressing the anticipated volumes

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, engineering or IT.
  • Deep understanding of the energy industry, including trends, competitors, and market conditions
  • Must be able to manage and track multiple projects concurrently and have a certification in project management
  • Have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, team members, and clients
  • Listening to customer needs, being responsive to their concerns, and providing exceptional service
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other members of the Alt HAN back office and field teams
  • Robust skills in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Full Driving Licence 
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in project management
  • Ability to lead the team and inspire them to achieve the project goals
  • Ability to manage time effectively to complete the project within the given timeline
  • Have the ability to identify problems and come up with innovative solutions to overcome them
  • Have the ability to make informed decisions that align with the project objectives
  • Knowledge of the CDM Regulations
  • Knowledge of calculating, validating and negotiating asset values for HV & LV electrical assets
  • Experience in supporting the commercial team in monthly cost and value reconciliations

Desirable

  • Have experience of working on similar projects
  • An understanding of the Smart Metering Programme, including trends, suppliers, and market conditions
