As the EC+I Engineer you will be part of our Energy business unit who are responsible for providing MEICA (mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) solutions within maintenance, installation and project/programme delivery across the UK's Energy Sector. This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to deliver preventative & corrective maintenance, project implementation and engineering solutions within the Power generation , Electricity and Gas distribution & regulation, and Renewable energy sectors.
As the EC&I Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Support the Management team in the delivery and supervision of work.
- Provide technical governance, support and supervisory responsibility for delegated tasks.
- Carrying out fault finding and investigation of faults, recording findings if necessary.
- Assist in developing efficiency and innovation to achieve continuous improvement.
- Responsible for health and safety compliance in all aspects of work.
- Support, mentor and assist the team's development in ensuring competence and quality are maintained and always striving to improve.
- Installation of new systems/equipment and commissioning.
- Assist operational staff with the resolution of complex problems.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Time served apprenticeship (or equivalent industry experience) supported by relevant formal qualifications at Level 4. E.g. HNC/Australian/New Zealand Qualifications or equivalent.
- Electrically trained and competent supported by relevant qualifications at level 3 – C&G, NVQ, 18th Edition etc.
- A deep understanding of SHEQ standards and processes supported by relevant formal training E.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
- You will have demonstrable experience & knowledge of relevant technical standards.
- Working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council as Incorporated and working towards Chartership status.
- Compliant with current IEE Regulations.
- Experience of process, control and electrical systems
- Knowledge of working with communication protocols.
- Knowledge of working within hazardous areas.
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of front line instrumentation and good understanding of relay logic and ability to maintain and repair.
- You will need to possess experience & knowledge of industry processes, policies & disciplines, such as those specific to the Energy, Water and Rail Industries.
